The community and the programme

Included with every paid membership tier. Peers matched by ticket size, a monthly clinic on live opportunities, and six modules on investing from the board seat.

    The Table

    Quarterly

A peer circle of eight, matched by ticket size and sector rather than seniority. Facilitated, Chatham House, the same eight people each time. Most peer groups seat a £50k investor beside a £500k investor and hope. They have almost nothing useful to say to each other about a term sheet. Ours do.

    Deal Clinic

    Monthly

Bring a live opportunity, anonymised as far as you like, and eight peers pull it apart for ninety minutes. Valuation, terms, the founder, the board dynamic, the exit path. You would pay £300 an hour for one adviser's opinion. This is eight people who have done it.

    The Investing Director Programme

    Six modules

Not a governance course. The IoD does that well and charges thousands for it. This teaches the part nobody covers: what changes when the director is also a shareholder.

    1. 1Valuing an early-stage company
    2. 2Term sheets from the director's side
    3. 3Structuring your position — SEIS, EIS, options, warrants, vesting
    4. 4Cap tables and dilution
    5. 5Wearing both hats — conflicts, fiduciary duty and D&O
    6. 6Engineering the exit
